People who are suffering from irritable bowel syndrome tend to have bowel muscles which are overly sensitive. The cause of the weakness of the bowel muscles is not known in exact, but there are several common predicted triggers that may cause the IBS symptoms. Stress, indigestible foods and hormonal fluctuations are all believed to be among the common triggers.
Other than that nausea is also considered as one of the IBS symptoms. The bad thing is nausea can actually be caused by a lot of different triggers. For example food poisoning, morning sickness, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, high blood sugar level and high level of cholesterol can all result in nausea.
Speaking about the weak muscles of the colon, until now nobody has been able to come up with the exact reason of this occurrence. Some believe that stress is the main culprit but some deny it because psychological impairments shouldn’t be the sole cause to blame. It is true that a lot of people with IBS tend to suffer mental agility especially those with severe symptoms but this is considered as one of the direct consequences of having IBS rather than being the trigger to it.
Until now IBS and its symptoms still remain as mystery even to the world of medicine. The good thing is these symptoms are able to be eliminated or at least controlled with proper usage of peppermint oil.
